Our School Council is interested in what other schools have done for "treat days", particularly if anyone has found a successful initiative that doesn't include food. Or a food item that would recognize the varied cultures in our school, and possibly suppliers.
Also, we would be interested in doing a spring community BBQ, and would like to hear how other councils have made a successful event happen.
Do you have any ideas to share? Post them in the comments section. If you want to send templates or other information, email it to me at alison.farbar@peelsb.com.
Thanks!
Alison
One of the best treats that our school council came up with is a fruit kebab. Chunks of fruit on a stick. The kids love them and it also meets the healthy food requirements. Parent volunteers make the kebabs, but you can also see if a local grocery store that does fruit/vegie trays could make them for you.
